The Bognor Model Car Club is affiliated to the BRCA who provide numerous benefits such as construction rules and liability insurance. This means that all participants will be required to join the BRCA to be able to race at our meetings.
Club membership is optional but required to be included in club championships.
All members must use a pit cloth to protect the tables from superglue, motor cleaner etc.
All LiPo batteries must be charged in a LiPo charging sack.
Doors open at 6.30pm, with booking-in closing at around 7.10pm so that the first race can be on the line at 7.30pm. This normally gives us three or four rounds and finals, depending on the number of classes/cars running.
Members can book in other people who might be coming late but must pay their entry fee (this saves race control having to collect it during the evening).
Annual championship points are gained on the first meeting in any month. 1st place gets 50 points, 2nd place gets 49 points and so on down to last place. Your best 10 results from 12 rounds will count.
Points for the seasonal series are gained at every meeting and all results count. Prizes are awarded to the top 3 drivers in each class. A prize will also be awarded to the top junior in each class.
Depending on the number of entrants there will be a maximum of six cars in each heat.
If time permits and depending on numbers we may run bump up finals allowing the top 2 to bump up to the next final (e.g. B to A final).
At least three cars must run in a round for series points to be awarded. For the four seasonal series at least three meetings must be contested. For annual championship points at least six meetings must be contested.
Construction rules for all classes are to follow current BRCA rules. Some exceptions maybe made to these which will be discussed with members and communicated on race nights and via the clubs Facebook page.
In the interest of fairness race control will sometimes scrutinise your car(s) and anyone found not following the rules (e.g use of motors or batteries not approved by the BRCA or the club) will be disqualified and will lose points.
We use the AMB RC4 timing system so you will require a MYLAPS or MRT RC4 transponder in each car. The club has a limited number of transponders available to hire but we encourage our regular members to purchase their own transponders as this helps race control run smoothly. At the end of every meeting it is essential that all hired transponders are returned to race control. If lost then it costs the club money to replace.
